General Manager - Zhuhai MRO

The purpose of this role is to be the Accountable Manager for the establishment, and to lead and be accountable for the management and performance of the Zhuhai Maintenance Part 145 Service Centre with a strategic objective to achieve Operational Excellence through leadership, cultural change and implementation of corporate business improvement strategies, tools and techniques.

Job Description

  • Day to day delivery of the responsibilities of the Accountable Manager
  • Be the Company’s representative for any external events
  • Plan, define and control the yearly department operating budget to ensure that necessary resources are available, expense costs are reduced and maintenance capital is improved
  • Lead the efforts to increase the market share in China and South East Asia
  • Drive and deliver business results focusing on the on-time aircraft release that improve reliability, lower cost and enable sustainable and scalable growth
  • Ensure the hangar is operated and maintained to the highest standards in occupational health and safety and in accordance with local legislations as well as the Company’s policies and procedures
  • Deliver continuous operational excellence and best practice
  • Provide clear leadership to the expanding multidisciplinary workforce
  • Lead all technical aspects and establish a fully functional Engineering Department with necessary regulatory approvals and support from various authorities, including but not limited to CAAC, FAA, HKCAD etc
  • Liaise with the Regional Director of Maintenance, Director of Finance and Director of Corporate Safety to ensure instructions are complied with within the Maintenance organisation
  • Ensure that the organisation’s procedures and standards are adhered to when carrying out maintenance
  • Carry out corrective action resulting from quality Audit by Quality Assurance Department
  • Direct, motivate, develop and control the Maintenance and Engineering team, in order to maximise their performance and ensure that objectives are achieved
  • Ensure management practices, procedures and resources are implemented in an effective and efficient manner to meet the Key Performance Indicators
  • Coach, Mentor and Develop the maintenance team at all levels to maximise individual’s potential and contribution to the wider Metrojet strategies
  • Implement robust and transparent financial processes and work practices to ensure financial reporting is accurate and as close to real time as possible
  • Ensure the SMS and HSE corporate programs are embedded in the system and personnel

Job Requirements

  • 15+ years in Aviation Industry, preferable on the Business and/or private Aviation Experience
  • More than 10 years of experience in managing a sizable team, preferably in aviation related industries
  • Preferably, hold a CAAC, EASA and/or FAA Maintenance Licence, and/or a Bachelor degree or above in Engineering
  • Master degree in business administration or additional qualifications in management
  • Liaison experience with the CAAC, HKCAD, FAA, EASA and/or other aviation industry agents
  • Strong background exposure with both domestic and international vendors
  • Demonstrated and firm understanding of international travel, international customs and practices
  • Working knowledge of inspection procedures, methods, equipment and accepted industry standards
  • Experience with P&L and business plan strategy
  • Previous International experience, namely in the Asia region
  • Detailed minded, excellent management skills, strong business acumen with reasonable level of financial literacy
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, in English are essential
