Metrojet Limited‘s MRO team successfully completed an engine change at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI) recently, following an Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) event identified through borescope inspection.
What made this project particularly challenging was the location. With limited resources, equipment constraints and complex logistics, every aspect of the operation required careful planning and coordination.
A huge credit goes to our Supply Chain team, whose meticulous coordination of the engine parts, tooling and transportation played a critical role in ensuring the project stayed on track.
Supported by 5 dedicated engineers on-site, the team completed the engine replacement in just 7 days, returning the aircraft to service safely and efficiently.
This achievement showcases Metrojet’s strength of teamwork and technical expertise even in the most demanding environments.
