The fuel tank is one of the most problematic areas in an aircraft’s airworthiness check. Inspecting the fuel tanks every 24 months helps clean up microbial growth, prevent structural corrosion, and rectify the defects in the fuel system.
The Metrojet Limited HK MRO completed a fuel tank inspection on a Gulfstream G650 aircraft earlier, and both microbial contamination and corrosion were found after de-fueling and ventilating the aircraft. As a Gulfstream Authorised Warranty Facility, the Metrojet HK MRO has a team of well-trained engineers who managed to complete the fuel tank inspection and corrosion rectification during 2C annual inspection in just two weeks, minimising the aircraft ground time and saving the customer much cost if the jet joins a relevant warranty programme.
